Lark's guided tasting and education
Join us at the Cellar Door for an exploration of the world of single malt whisky led by our knowledgeable guide. You'll learn about the history of Tasmanian whisky, the production of Lark single malts and a copper pot still, highland peat, and receive a thoughtful lesson on whisky tasting. Sample Lark spirits in an intimate atmosphere and ask questions from our expert staff. The session will intensify your appreciation for the craft of whisky making and drinking. Sessions run daily Mondays to Saturdays at 2.30pm, or by appointment for larger groups. This guided tasting lasts approximately 45 minutes to an hour.

HALF-DAY WHISKY TOUR (NEW)
The half-day tours run every weekday at both 9.00am and 1.30pm, departing from the Lark Cellar Door at 14 Davey Street. Tour guests travel to the distillery complex in the Coal River Valley to spend over two hours of absorbing interpretation and tasting in the pristine surroundings of the vineyards and farms in Tasmania's premium cold climate wine region. The tour concludes back at our bar where guests continue tasting and have the opportunity to purchase Lark products and special tour discount rates.

One Day Whisky Tour
Meet at Lark's Davey Street Cellar Door and Whisky Bar at 8.15am (hotel pickups available by arrangement) then spend the morning at our Mount Pleasant distillery followed by a visit to historic Richmond for morning tea. Lunch is at the Frogmore Creek visitors centre, and includes tastings and tour of the Tom Samek floor installation. The afternoon is spent at the Mt Pleasant distillery to see stills in full operation and the bond store before we return to the Cellar Door for guided tastings, concluding at 4.30pm. Tour includes lunch, morning and afternoon teas, tastings and transport.

Two Day Whisky Tour
Day one begins at Lark's Davey Street Cellar Door and Whisky Bar at 8.15am with a welcome and introduction to Lark Distillery. We then head off to see historic Redlands in the beautiful Derwent Valley. The rest of the day is spent visiting the peat bog in the central Tasmanian highlands. A gourmet lunch of peat smoked trout is prepared at our peat bog and guests enjoy Tasmanian wines, Lark Bush Liqueur and our famous Single Malt Whisky. Day one ends back at our whisky bar for a well earned drink at about 4:30 pm.
Day two takes us to Lark's Mount Pleasant Distillery to follow the distiller through a full day of whisky production. The day begins at 8.15 am to witness the "mashing in" of the day's whisky brew, then we spend time wih the distiller discussing the the art, science and passion of small scale whisky production. We can get 'hands on' with the process and sample the mash, wort, and spirit at every stage. Guests can get aquainted with our copper pot stills and their operation, and see barrel filling and production of other Lark Distillery products. A gourmet lunch and wine tastings at Meadowbank Wines Visitor Centre provides refreshment during the day. Day two concludes with a trip back to Larks Cellar Door and Whisky Bar with a comprehensive tasting and an opportunity to purchase Lark products.

Redlands distillery visit
Redlands distillery is the latest and most exciting new distillery and heritage tourism venture in Tasmania. Redlands' copper pot whisky stills will begin operation before the end of December 2012 and artisan bread baking has already begun on a daily basis. In the New Year Redlands will offer special whisky themed dinners, gala events and personalized tours in conjunction with Lark Tours. Lovers of trout fishing can also visit the adjoining Salmon Ponds and even indulge in a spot of fly fishing in the pools and streams at Redlands.
